If you are remembering that Enterprise Bargaining started back in 2024
and wondering how we got here …
That’s correct, this enterprise bargaining round started in September 2024, before the PSA election.
Plainly, early negotiations were not managed well. The PSA leadership at that time delayed putting in a claim for many months without explanation to members.
That’s why Charlotte and Celia ran for election.
You might remember their campaign to draw attention to the poor outcomes for public servants. They even formally joined the enterprise bargaining process on behalf of many public servant employees who had had enough.
Public servants endorsed Charlotte and Celia with a strong mandate to fix the enterprise bargaining process and bring about change.
Now as General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary, Charlotte Watson and Celia Brougham have pushed for a faster process, weekly meetings with government negotiators, and, critically, a pay rise for public servants of 20%.
