Weekend action paused—PSA members force talks to Ministerial level

Thousands of members taking action across the state have delivered a major breakthrough.

Thousands of members taking action across the state have delivered a major breakthrough.

After strong rallies and growing pressure, PSA leaders and members met directly with Premier Malinauskas and Deputy Premier Maher late Wednesday afternoon.

As a result, the Premier has agreed that negotiations will now be elevated to Cabinet level. This is a huge step forward and a clear sign that our action is working.

This morning, PSA delegates and members met urgently to discuss next steps. Members voted to pause Saturday's ALP Convention action to allow these ministerial-level talks to proceed in good faith.

The Premier has confirmed in writing that these talks will start to take place before the end of next week. This win belongs to every member who's stood up for fair pay and respect at work.

But make no mistake – the pressure stays on. Members expect an offer that delivers fair pay and addresses our key concerns. Preparations for further action, including rallies at MPs' offices, are already underway.

We're also calling on PSA Worksite Reps and Delegates to step forward and share your stories with the media. Putting a human face to low wages and the impact it has personally and in the workplace, keeps public support on our side. If you're ready, contact us at enquiries@psaofsa.asn.au.

Our united action has shifted the dial. Now's the time to keep the momentum and push for the fair, urgent outcome every PSA member deserves.

Attendance at upcoming actions will be paramount to keeping the pressure on. Stay tuned for more information about actions coming soon.
