Mega March: Keeping Pressure On

First, we want to acknowledge just how tiring and frustrating this process has been. Bargaining began in September 2024, and yet we are still without a final resolution. We hear the anger. We feel the disappointment. And we want you to know that despite how and why we find ourselves in this position, we are incredibly proud of the determination, energy and solidarity members have shown over these past months.

Enterprise Bargaining negotiations are confidential and without prejudice, which makes it challenging to keep everyone as informed as we would like. What we can say is that your elected PSA Council representatives continue to attend meetings directly with Cabinet Ministers, and they are advocating relentlessly on your behalf.

We are making progress.

Our next meeting is Monday 17 November, and we will update members as soon as possible after that. We are hopeful that this meeting will move us closer to concrete outcomes.

We continue to stress the need to resolve this EB before the end of the year, and we firmly believe this is achievable. The action you have taken, and continue to take, has been instrumental in forcing these issues into the spotlight.

We also want to recognise the bravery of PSA members who have spoken publicly about the realities in their workplaces and the impact that chronically low wages are having on essential government services. For the first time in decades, the broader community is seeing the critical, often unseen work that public sector workers do and the human cost of long-term underinvestment.

We know the wait for a fair pay rise is hard, and we genuinely appreciate the patience and strength members have shown while we work to finalise this agreement. But now more than ever, we need to stand together.

That's why the Mega Rally on 26 November is absolutely critical.
This rally must be bigger, louder and more powerful than the Parliament House rally on 15 October. That rally showed the government that public sector workers are united and fed up but this one needs to leave no room for doubt.

Your presence matters. Every person who shows up increases our collective strength. Every voice adds pressure. Every worker standing side by side sends a message the government cannot ignore: we demand a pay rise that reflects our worth, respects our work, and recognises the essential services we provide.

If you have ever felt undervalued, stretched to breaking point, or frustrated by delays in this process—this is the moment to show it.

Bring your colleagues. Bring your worksite. Bring your determination.

Let's fill the streets and make it unmistakably clear that public sector workers deserve better and we are prepared to fight for it.

26 November. 12:30pm. Stand with us.

This is how we win.
